I’ve reached the point in my life where
all many of my friends, and some of my past wedding clients, are having kids. And while I’ve always loved toddlers & small humans, babies scare me. I’m afraid of hurting them, I don’t know how to hold them, and I’m not sure what they want. But slowly, as my friends have had kids, I’ve been learning. Amy, the beautiful mama of two below, has been the best teacher. She promises that if I’m careful and smart, I won’t break the babies, and she even taught me how to hold one! As much experience as I’ve had with toddlers, I’ve always been out of my comfort zone with babies. Slowly, I’m learning how they work!
And when they were getting ready to have their second daughter, we decided to do a lifestyle newborn session. I love in-home sessions, and I love them even more when it’s the kind of sweetness and chaos and newness that comes with a baby. It’s just you and your family in those first, hazy, wonderful weeks. We gathered everyone on the bed and they read stories, cuddled, and we took a few glamour shots of their little girl. There were no baskets or hats or craziness, just family and coziness and life at that very moment.
If you’re expecting a baby in April or May, I’m offering a few specials for families who book in advance. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for details and to schedule your session. <3
