Oh gosh. June is such a crazy month in Spokane. Two weeks ago, it was 95 degrees out, but on Saturday, it was in the 60s, and windy with rain showers. But Misha & Tony braved the rain and wind, and thanks to the beautiful, sheltered courtyard at Barrister Winery, were able to be married outside. Such a sweet wedding, such a sweet way to get back into blogging, and I can’t wait to share more with you!
Joel & Dan were married last August at Within Sodo, and ever since I drove home (with the windows down) at midnight after their wedding, I’ve been trying to find the words to describe their wedding. And months later, I don’t feel like I’m any closer to doing these wonderful men justice. Joel & Dan are an amazing, creative, and loving couple. They planned the wedding day to make sure every guest had a wonderful time. There were couches for lounging, space for dancing, drinks before the ceremony, and a the whole space was filled with love.
Basically, this wedding was a true reflection of Joel & Dan’s love, and their relationship. They are such caring, giving, people, and I have been so honored to know them. Their wedding day had me laughing, crying, and dancing. Sometimes doing more than one at a time. This wedding? It was one for the books.
Joel & Dan, thank you. Thank you for the epic dance party, the beautiful rooftop moments, for dancing in fur coats, and for having me along and allowing me to spend the day with you, your families, and your guests. It was an honor. And another huge thank you to the lovely and talented Kate Ford, who shot this wedding with me. She’s my favorite Seattle tea buddy and shooting partner. Some of these shots are hers. Vendors are at the bottom.

I was pretty sure Danielle & Dan were my kind of couple when we were emailing back and forth about where to meet for drinks, because it turns out we live in the same neighborhood and suggested the same places! After meeting them in person, I knew they were the kind of clients I would cherish as friends too. I mean, we did their engagement session up at Greenbluff and out at Chaps, which my friends and family can tell you, are two of my favorite places.
It was such an honor getting to know these two and their families. Not only are Danielle & Dan an amazing couple, but they’re some of the nicest people I’ve met — and they have good taste in books too. I had a blast wandering through downtown Spokane with them for their portraits, including a few we took in Auntie’s Bookstore, before heading to Nectar Tasting Room for a fun and casual wedding ceremony and wicked dance party before strolling back to the Davenport at the end of the night. And Danielle’s dress? I love it. It’s so simple and sweet and absolutely perfect because she bought it off the rack. You don’t need a long dress or to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress you’ll wear once.
Check it out!

You might remember Danielle & Dan from their lovely Chaps & Greenbluff engagement session I posted a few weeks ago. They got married over the weekend in an intimate little wedding at Nectar tasting room. It was a wonderful bash that ended with a stroll through downtown Spokane at the end of the night.
Congratulations Danielle & Dan! Thanks for having me along to share your day!! <3
I spent the weekend in Seattle with these lovely gentlemen.
It was one of the most amazing weddings I’ve had a chance to be a part of. At one of my favorite venues. And I had my favorite girl Kate Ford by my side.
You guys, I’m not a crier at weddings. I’m more of a big giddy smiles and jazz hands girl. But I almost lost it during their vows. But more about that later! Here’s a beautiful little preview of their wedding. [Psst – Don’t these two look like menswear models in the last shot? Hot!]
Many many thanks to everyone involved, especially to Joel and Dan, for having me along.
