I am so so excited to share this little preview with you, and I cannot wait to edit all these photos and share the whole day! Tara + Alex had an absolutely perfect wedding day, with a ceremony at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes and then their reception at the new rooftop space at the Steam Plant.
Quick little post today, because I got called for jury duty and have to report in just a few minutes.
Katie and Ben, I hope you have a fantastic honeymoon, and I can’t wait to share more of these with you!!
Every week for the past…too many months…I’ve sworn to myself that I was going to catch up on blogging. And then, I would get sidetracked by so many things. Emails from clients, meeting with vendors about projects, or – confession – the Winter Olympics.
But with their first anniversary in sight, I need to get back on the wagon. This post is way overdue. Cecily and Ted were the first wedding I had after being on maternity leave. I was SUPER nervous to get back into weddings! What if something went wrong? What if I was so out of shape I basically died in the middle of the day? I didn’t – thankfully – but the next morning was rough. I was so tired!
This sweet wedding took place up in Colville, where Cecily and Ted live. They got ready for the day in their new home, which still didn’t have much furniture, because they hadn’t even really moved in yet! Then they walked a few blocks to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for their ceremony. Later, we drove across town to Colville Ag Trade Center for the reception, which they had all beautifully decorated up for them. Honestly, I had such a hard time narrowing this down, and it’s still a really long post.
The day had started out kind of rainy and grey, but it ended with beautiful sunshine and we escaped their reception for a gorgeous walk around the fairgrounds. A couple notes: if you’re getting married in Spokane and it just so happens that the Zags are in the running for a National Title, you decide to hook a TV up in a room off the reception area so that your crazy fan guests can watch the game. And even then, you’ll have a few guests watching on their phones at the tables.
Thank you, Cecily and Ted, for entrusting me with your wedding day, for taking such good care of me on my first wedding back. It was such a joy to meet you both and all your wonderful family and friends!!
Thank you to the very talented Kelly, over at Kelly Q Photography for assisting me on this wedding. Having a second photographer is such a blessing for Catholic weddings!!

This is no April Fool’s Day joke — Cecily and Ted got married on Saturday! I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to welcome me back from maternity leave, and we had a wonderful day up in Colville. From a first look at their new home, to their beautiful ceremony at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and a rocking reception at the Colville Ag Trade Center, we enjoyed a perfect spring day in the Inland Northwest. Plus, what do you do when it turns out that your wedding reception is in the middle of Gonzaga’s first Final Four appearance??? You hook up a TV in a room off the reception space! And well, as you can see in the second to last photo, it was very much appreciated, especially in those last stressful moments before we won! :)
Cecily & Ted, I hope you’re having a wonderful time on your honeymoon, and I can’t wait to share more of this wedding!!
