Once upon a time, when I first started using a DSLR for my job at Student Publications, I had a few hours of extra time and my friend Kayte was kind enough to pose for me. She also serenaded me with her beautiful guitar and piano skills. She’s a beautiful lady with a great heart. And I miss her lots.
These were shot with an old Canon 10D. They’re grainy and gritty and I love that. We shot this entire session at Gonzaga’s Music Mansion, which is a cute haunted mansion on the GU campus. Kayte is a classical guitarist and wonderful singer.
I took a lot of photos while I was at Gonzaga. I worked for the newspaper and the yearbook. And sometimes, I was so overwhelmed by photos that I wouldn’t even edit them. They have been forgotten (believe it or not, the same happened to a lot of my photos from China). One of my goals this year is to dig out some of the older photos – photos I loved taking and want to share – and get them up here.
These photos were taken for a piece that the Gonzaga Bulletin (newspaper) ran on Fall Fashion at Gonzaga. These girls were a blast. We took pictures of them on our lunch break really quickly. Proof that you can get some killer shots from a 20 minute little session :)
