Hannah and Jay are getting married this week, and even though I’m woefully behind on blogging, I was determined to get their engagement session posted before their wedding! Hannah and I have known each other for nearly half our lives, after we studied abroad together. I was so excited to meet Jay and shoot their engagement session over the summer while I was down in Portland. Hannah and Jay had one of their first dates at the Portland Art Museum, so it was only fitting that they also have their engagement session there. And, before their session, they told me they had some special outfits they wanted to wear for the engagement session. And well, they’re the best special outfits I’ve ever photographed. Check them out at the end!
Hannah and Jay, I can’t wait to photograph your wedding later this week!!
Good morning! Last summer, Katie and Seth booked me for their beautiful Palouse wedding. Besides being two of the sweetest, most giving people I’ve had the chance to meet, they’re also parents to a crew of kiddos who were champs at both their engagment/family session and the wedding. I really believe that family is family, no matter what the connection is. And because of that, I love doing these engagement sessions that are also family sessions. They aren’t going to be a romantic walk in the park the whole time, but they are a special glimpse at your family right before you get married.
For Katie and Seth, we decided to meet downtown and get some photos together in the park and then we finished it off with a bit of time for just the two of them as the sunset. Their littlest one decided to be my assistant, and made sure they both looked at the camera when I asked them too. ;)
Next up, I’ll blog their sweet wedding!!
When I met up with Jen & Matt in person, the first thing I learned about them is how much they love their kids, and how excited they are to have their kids in the wedding. So, it was only natural that we include them in their engagement photos as well. And heck, why not add in an over exuberant dog as well? We had a wonderful time on one of the last true fall days, and I can’t tell you how much I laughed with this sweet family.
While we did the majority of their photos at Manito Park, they wanted to do a few photos at Taco Bell as well, since that is where they met. And how cute are those hot sauce packs?!
Jen & Matt, I can’t wait for your wedding in July!!
I am so ready for summer. I don’t know if it’s because winter was so terrible, or because I’m getting all caught up on blogging these beautiful sessions and weddings from last summer, and that has me dreaming of days so hot I want to hide in the freezer. Okay, maybe not quite that hot. But still! Warm sunshine, sandals, and a walk around downtown Coeur d’Alene sounds really nice right now.
Meet Maranda and CJ. They are getting married this summer, and I cannot wait for their big day! We met up on a hot, sunny, August afternoon last summer to do their engagement photos at lake Coeur d’Alene. This was – sadly – the first time I’ve actually walked all the way around the floating dock/boardwalk in Coeur d’Alene, but I think I’m going to have to make it my mission to do so more often this summer!! Maranda and CJ are the sweetest couple, with such big hearts for others. I cannot wait to meet their friends and family, and be a part of their wedding day in June!!
Back in January, I donated an engagement session to PreVeiled, a local organization that helps throw weddings for couples who are in life altering situations. Sarah & Matt were the lucky winners of that session, and I was so so thrilled to finally meet them on a slightly cloudy day in Post Falls. They introduced me to two sweet little parks – Falls Park and Q’emiln Park – and I keep meaning to head back there with H and our pup for a nice little hike.
Sarah & Matt were true sports, when, at the very end of their session, it started to rain. No, not just rain, outright POUR. What do you do when it’s raining cats and dogs at the end of your session? You spin in circles in the rain of course. And then you all dash madly to your cars and crank the heat up so you don’t freeze.
Sarah & Matt, thank you for supporting PreVeiled, and I wish you both a wonderful marriage!!
