Spokane Bridal Festival Booth 2015 // Spokane Wedding Photography

Happy Friday! Last month, I had a booth at the Spokane Bridal Festival. This is the second time I’ve had a booth there, and both times, I’ve freaked out beforehand and felt so nervous. As many of you know, I fell into photography as a kid because I got to be behind the camera instead of in the photo. I’m not a total introvert, but big crowds are not my thing! However, I always come around once the doors of the show open, because I get to talk with so many wonderful people. I loved meeting so many of you — there were over 4,000 people who came to the show — and talking about your wedding dreams. As overwhelming at wedding expos can be, I think it’s great to be able to meet vendors in person. I do dislike how stressful they can be. I know from personal experience that a lot of vendors are pushing couples to book that weekend. To step away from that, I didn’t even bring a contract with me to the show. I wanted to focus on meeting people and making good connections, not booking a dozen weddings. And I’m happy to say that I think it was much less stressful for me and for those I talked to. Any thoughts on this??

Anyway! I’m really happy with how my booth turned out. And I want to give credit to everyone who helped me out. My husband and our very handy and helpful neighbor built my wall. I sketched an idea out, my husband built it up, and the two of them got it all up and secure for the show. My husband also spent all day Saturday at the booth. Which, can we take a moment to admire how amazing of him that was? Then, Alyssa, of Belle Journee Events, who not only helped me style the booth, but helped me in my booth all weekend. I couldn’t have done it on Saturday without her or my husband there to help me out! Alyssa took the things I collected, and used her special touch to make it all look fantastic. Some of the pieces in the booth are mine, some are Alyssa’s, a few were rented from Glam Vintage Events, and the linens are from Event Rents.

As you can see in that last photo, brides & grooms had a chance to sign up for more information about the 2015 wedding giveaway. I’ll be announcing the details in the next week or so, as I get everything together. I’m really excited to be doing this again! If you’d like to get in on that early annoucement list, you can sign up here.

PS – Want to know a little bit of what it’s like to be self employed? I chatted with Lauren over at A Red Ember about that. You may recognize her as one of Ann’s bridesmaids. :)
