Portrait Sessions on Film // Spokane Film Photographer

For a while over the winter and spring, I experimented with shooting film at my portrait sessions and weddings. And then I stopped.

It was fun to shoot film, and I love what the work looked like, but it was also really stressful. I wasn’t shoot enough film at a session to use a roll, and I was rarely using up a roll in time to deliver the film with the digitals. Plus, film is not cheap! I now understand why hybrid or all-film photographers charge so much. Yikes.

At this point, I’ve decided to shoot film only for my personal stuff, but I’m sure I’ll change my mind again. Below you’ll find a few shots from Alyssa & Joey’s Christmas session, Bethany & Peter’s Portland engagement session, Delta & Ricky’s Cheney engagement session, Erin & Andrew’s Greenbluff wedding, and a few I shot with a model in downtown Spokane. I’m still interested in shooting more people on film, but I don’t want to miss out on the moments at weddings or engagement sessions. I guess I’ll just have to practice on my friends! :)
