Yesterday I shared the majority of Natalie & Sam’s wedding day, but I wanted to save their portraits for a special post. First, because their day was so crazy, with the weather throwing off the entire timeline and changing all the plans, I wanted to highlight the fact that it’s still possible to get amazing portraits when everything goes nuts. And second, because we were able to do three sets of portraits with Natalie & Sam. We did some along with their first look in the beginning, and a quick little set right after family photos during cocktail hour, but the third set was magical. During the reception, right before desert was served, I noticed that the rain was gone and the light was gorgeous. When I mentioned it to Natalie, she grabbed Sam and we ran for the field behind the barn.
Third, and this is for the grooms out there, Sam was great to work with. So many men try to hide their emotions, even on their wedding day, so it was such a joy to work with a groom who couldn’t stop showing his excitement at getting married. That big grin rarely left his face all night, and it was fantastic to see that. All my other grooms — take note! :)
