I’m always terrified of flying out for an event and not making it in time. So I booked our flights for Friday (for a Sunday wedding) and I was SO glad I did. We missed six flights due to weather, delays & mechanical problems (we only had two flights). Ack. But we made it to Chicago and the wedding was wonderful! Maria is a friend of ours from Gonzaga, but this was the first time we’d met Michael, besides on Skype. And they are perfect for each other. Micheal couldn’t stop grinning the whole day, he was just so so happy. Maria & Michael put a lot of little details into their wedding, but when I went through and picked all my favorite images for this post…well, the majority are of Michael grinning! :) But trust me, they had a beautiful Rockefeller Chapel wedding and the reception was at Ida Noyes hall. I could not get over how beautiful the University of Chicago is! Maria & Michael, thank you for including me in your wedding. I had a wonderful time and I can’t wait for you to come visit us in Spokane.
As for Chicago — three days was not enough. And next time, I’ll be more prepared for the humidity.
Many many thanks to my friend Dan Hess, and to H, for shooting with me. A few of these images belong to them. I would apologize for picking so many black & white images for this post, but they just fit. Also, I love weddings with bowties — keep them coming!
