I had the hardest time narrowing down the photos to share with you from Margo & Josh’s beautiful Bastyr University Chapel wedding, so this is a long one! As usual for my Seattle weddings, the super talented Kate Ford was along to assist me, and some of these images are hers. You may recognize Margo from when I did some family photos for her family a few years ago, her older sister is a family friend, and I was so thrilled to get to capture this big day in her life with Josh. They were married in a beautiful ceremony at Bastyr University, where Josh works, and then had their reception at the Rosehill Community Center, up in Mukilteo. It’s a bit of a drive from downtown Seattle, but the views of the sound from the venue cannot be beat!! It’s one of my favorite Seattle area wedding venues now.
Over the years, I’ve learned that some of my favorite churches have been on college campuses, like St. Ignatius at Seattle University, or St. Aloysius at Gonzaga University, so I wasn’t too surprised when I walked into the chapel at Bastyr University and fell in love. It’s such a simple space, and so elegant. There’s something rather stately about a church ceremony, and I love when I have a couple of them during the year. Plus, they usually have fun little nooks and crannies to take photos in, like you’ll see from some of Margo & Josh’s portrait session.
Margo & Josh, thank you. Thank you for having me along on your wedding day, for being such a wonderful and laid back couple. We had a blast photographing your day, and we enjoyed every minute of it! We wish you the best of luck in your marriage, and we’re so thrilled to have been a part of your wedding day.
