I’ve been out all week with some kind of head cold/sinus problem. I wanted to blog this wedding last Friday, but things got a little crazy [short story: we missed six flights on our way to Chicago for Maria & Michael‘s wedding]. But, even though I’m still stuffed up and supposed to be packing, I wanted to get part of Larissa & Jason’s beautiful wedding out before we leave again.
// Part One.
Larissa & Jason called me from Bogata, Columbia. They’re music professors down there, and we talked via Skype. A week before their wedding, I drove out to Vashon to meet with them. They got married at Larissa’s family’s home in a small Jewish ceremony. The family did so much by hand. Larissa made her veil, she made the Chuppah stand with her father. They decorated the reception tent themselves. Her dress was custom made for her in Bogata. The best part? Every single person I met at this wedding was wonderful and kind and welcoming. Thank you Jason & Larissa for letting me take part in your wedding!
