During the ceremony, we could see rain clouds coming in across the sound. But luckily, it didn’t rain during the ceremony or dinner. In fact, at times we had blue skies instead of clouds. It didn’t rain while everyone socialized and drank coffee and chai. It didn’t rain while we made s’mores around the fire. It didn’t rain during the spectacular sunset. It didn’t rain during the first dance. But about 20 minutes before we left, it started to pour. You can see in the last few images, that people just kept dancing in the rain. We grabbed an umbrella (thanks Tristan!) and put it over the laptop and I had a towel over my camera. And we just kept dancing.
And then, we dashed to catch the last direct ferry of the night. And the rain stopped while we stood on the ferry deck. And I fell in love with Vashon just a little bit more.
Many thanks to Emily & Hoku for having me along for the day. To Brigette and Mike for welcoming me into their home again and again — thanks for the cucumbers! To Emily (thing 2) and Tristan for being my assistants for the day and carrying my gear and dashing to the car for umbrellas. It wouldn’t have been the same without you :)
