It’s that time of year again! August is here, and summer is slipping away. For many of us, we’re preparing for a new school year, and soaking up the hot days before the first crisp leaves fall and we wake up to the smell of fall in the air. Before you know it, we’ll be eating apples, carving pumpkins, and wearing sweaters. Wait — too soon? Still at the lake? Oops!
I’m sorry to say, it’s coming up soon, and to usher in fall, I’m announcing my fall mini session dates. This year, we’ll be tossing leaves all over Spokane and Coeur d’Alene on three different days. I’ll have a few blankets and maybe a pillow or two, but the focus is on you, and your loved ones.
There are three available days, in both September and October. Both mornings and afternoons are available, although not on every day. All sessions will take place in the Spokane/Post Falls/Couer d’Alene area, the exact location will be emailed to you about a week before the sessions. If the weather forecast is really bad (pouring rain, high winds, any red flag warnings, etc), you will be emailed with the options to reschedule. All sessions are 25 minutes long, and you’ll receive 15-20 final images in an online gallery with a link to download them. Prints, canvases, and cards are available, but are not included in the session price. More details can be found here on the booking page.
Your edited images will be delivered about 10 days after your session, but no later than 2 weeks. Prints and canvases are available through your gallery; digital files are included with your session. Mini sessions are great for: just you, your whole family, only the kids, you and your love, or a group of friends. They cannot be used for newborns or weddings. Reserve your time slot here! Spots will go fast, and are scheduled on a first come first serve basis. Space is limited! The session fee is non-refundable and required to hold your spot – if you need to cancel, you can apply your deposit towards a session at a later time. Once you book a slot, I will send you an invoice for the session. You have 24 hours to pay the invoice, or your time slot will be released. Got a bigger group or want more time? Book your sessions back to back and get a few extra minutes in the middle as well! You’ll get double the time and double the photos. :)
You can reach out to me by email if you have any questions. I can’t wait to see and photograph all of you!
If you’re not sure what to wear, I wrote a post on that! Plus, some highlights from past mini sessions and the link to reserve your slot for 2019.
This little guy had my heart aching for those tiny newborn days, which I didn’t love when I was deep in them (and lacking sleep) but I adore the tiny little babies and how soft their skin is. They’re so sweet and fresh – ah! Weston’s mama knew she was having a scheduled Cesarean which did take out some of the mystery of when we were having the session. It was so fun to do this session, not just with sweet baby Weston, but the rest of their family, including his three big sisters who came to join us for part of the session. I love having older siblings at newborn sessions!
Rachel contacted me about doing a family session with their extended family while they were in town visiting, and we had such a wonderful time! Her little guy was a bit unsure at first, but once we figured out that he needed some snacks, he warmed right up. I’ve said it again and again, but family photos are so precious! What a beautiful thing for them to have these photos, in their family’s backyard.
While they won’t be in your backyard, I do still have some mini session slots available for this fall for Spokane family sessions. Snag your family – big or small – and hop in front of my camera for a few minutes. Want a longer session? Get in touch with me about booking two sessions back to back during my minis for more time – perfect for an extended family session!
Or, maybe you want photos with your love, your pets, or you need new head shots. These quick little sessions are perfect for that too!
Worried about what to wear? Rachel and her family nailed it, but here’s my guide on what to wear for a family session if you need it!
It’s that time of year again – fall mini session time! The dates went out to my mailing list last week, and now they’re open for everyone. The September date filled up quickly, there are only a couple spots left in the morning.
Sessions will be similar to last year: $165, 20 minutes long with an online viewing gallery of 15-20 edited images for downloading.
You can book your spot right here. Once you’ve booked your session, I’ll get in touch to arrange payment. Got questions?
I can’t wait to see you!
PS – To be the first to get emails about Black Friday deals, mini sessions, and occasional newsletters, hop on the mailing list.
The second session from my fall mini sessions that I wanted to highlight is this super sweet mommy & me session I did. Here’s a great example of a shy kiddo who took some time to warm up. Mama wanted a few photos of just her little girl, but she wasn’t really ready to play along at the beginning. We got a couple at the end, and she was so silly, wrapping herself up in a blanket!!

I was chatting with someone last week about doing spring sessions, and I realized I never blogged any of my fall mini sessions from last year. Oops!
First up: the Heiberg Family!! Some of you might recognize Delta and Ricky from their Manito Park elopement a few years back. Since then, they’ve moved to Seattle and had the sweetest little girl. We had such a blast meeting up for this session. If you’re nervous about having enough time to get good photos at a mini session, don’t worry! Yes, sometimes kids can be total terrors, but as long as you relax (and don’t schedule your session at naptime) you can get great photos. This little lady was a bit cranky, but she warmed right up for me.
A lot of times, people want to know how many photos they’ll get. It depends! But for last fall’s sessions, I delivered around 20-25 images from each session. Want more info on mini sessions? Sign up for my VIP list right here, and you’ll be the first to know about session dates, plus you’ll get exclusive discounts for sessions!
PS – I always try to get a couple parents only photos when we do a family session. It’s important to get a good one of those too!! What do you think of Delta & Ricky’s couple mom & dad shots at the end?
