I’ve been stalling on posting Bethany & Peter’s wedding, for two reasons. First, because I’m not quite sure I have the words to describe this wonderful couple, their family and friends, and their wedding. Second, because once I hit publish, I’m done with this wedding, and it was so wonderful, so perfectly Bethany & Peter, that I’m not ready to let it go.
When Bethany first emailed me, nearly a year before their fall wedding, I knew then that I liked her. When I got to meet the two of them in person, we chatted about so many wonderful things – including their wedding – and I wish they didn’t live so far away. Then we did their engagement photos in Portland, and Bethany & I emailed back and forth quite a bit as the wedding got closer. In February, when we went down to Portland, they even met up with us for dinner, and I now know where to grab amazing sushi in Portland. I’d have such a problem with eating out if I lived in Portland. :)
All that said, one of the things I love most about Bethany & Peter is that they made this wedding reflect themselves. They decided to have a brunch wedding at the Davenport, making it easy for all their out of town guests – themselves included – to stay nearby. They had their reception, and then we went off to the South Hill to find some beautiful fall colors and leaves, which is why they picked an October date, and they didn’t fuss about the other details. What was important to them was the people, and that was reflected in every decision they made for their wedding.
Bethany & Peter, thank you for bringing me into your lives, for making me laugh, and for trusting me with your wedding memories. Next time I make it to Portland, I’m bringing Shadow for a puppy play date. :)
