Open Position: 2016 Photography Intern/Assistant

As wedding season is about to ramp up, I am looking for an intern/assistant for the summer season. This is a paid, mostly non-shooting position, where you’ll be assisting me at weddings, but there is some opportunity for you to shoot, if you so desire.

This position is seasonal, running from June-October (exact dates TBD), and is great for anyone looking to get into wedding photography, or who wants to see what it takes to run your own photography business.

I am looking for someone who is:

— Professional, personable, and well spoken.

— Responsible and punctual.

— Available most Saturdays and some weekdays or weeknights.

— Able to carry 20-40 lbs easily, and for long periods of time.

— Can commit to 5-10 hours/week, depending on schedule, which will be discussed in advance.

— Have reliable transportation.

— Be able to have fun! Weddings are great. They’re hard work, but it’s one of the most exciting days of a couples’ life.

Pay is $10/hour, and there may be some travel opportunities available. You do NOT have to be interested in wedding photography for this position, but this is a great position for someone interested in weddings, photography, or owning a small business. Shooting is 100% optional. You should like cake. ;)

Email me (emily@emilywenzel.com) with the subject “2016 Assistant”. Include a cover letter stating why you’re interested in the position, your resume, and at least 2 references. Applications are being accepted through March 31st.
